Brief History

The Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd. was established in 1966 with the objectives to improve the performance of the Cooperative Sugar Mills and to establish new Cooperative Sugar Mills in the State of Haryana. At present 10 Coop. Sugar Mills are in operation in Haryana under the control of Sugar Federation.  An another Cooperative Sugar Mill at Assandh (2500 TCD) is being operated by the HAFED. The details of the Cooperative Sugar Mills alongwith capacity and name of places are as under:-

Main Activities of Sugarfed

·         Establishing new Coop. Sugar Mills and value added projects of by products in the  State.

·         Arrangement of funds from Govt. of India, State Govt. and Financial Institutions. 

·         Rendering advice & assistance to the existing Coop. Sugar Mills for improving their performance in the technical, financial and cane     development areas.

·         Preparation of Cane Development Plan for improving productivity and income to the farmers from sugar cane crop.

Vision   

To work harmoniously for overall progress and prosperity of farmers by paying fair returns to sugarcane, generation of employment, trading activities and environment friendly industrialisation

The Coop. Sugar Mills i.e. Shahabad, Karnal & Panipat have won the three award at National level for the season 2015-16 as per details given below:-

Future Schemes / Plans

i)          Shifting, expansion and Modernisation of Panipat Sugar Mills along with Co­-generation and ethanol plant.

ii)         The possibility to install the value added projects of bye-products in PPP mode is being explored.

iii)        Installation of 60 KLPD Ethanol Plant at Shahabad Sugar Mills.
